The structure i chose to do this project on was the Empire State Building. The team that designed this building were Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon. This team of architects are very smart and have great visions. This building is located in New York. The address of this building is 350 5th Ave, New York, NY 10118. The construction on this building started on March 17, 1930 and it took one year and 45 days to complete. This building is owned by 2,800 investors in Empire State Building Associates LLC. Recently in 2010, the building had a 550 million dollar renovation to make the building more energy efficient and Eco friendly. After the renovation, the building received a gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating in September 2011, the Empire State Building is the tallest LEED certified building in the United States. This building did not have an effect on other architectural buildings, however other buildings had impacted this building to get a renovation to be more efficient. I chose to do my project on this building, because the empire state building is very well known, and i wanted to dive deeper into the building. Doing this project i learned a lot about the archetecual values of this building and new york city too.
